Deeksha STEM School, Bannerghatta

Deeksha STEM School is among the first STEM schools in Bengaluru. The Founder President of the school, Dr.T.V Ramakrishna, obtained his degree in civil engineering from UVCE Bangalore. During the 1960s, Dr. Ramakrishna immigrated to the United States where he earned his Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati. He later settled in Charleston, West Virginia, where he worked for the West Virginia Department of Highways and eventually became Director of Research. After decades of service to the state of West Virginia, Dr. Ramakrishna and his wife, Mrs. Vijayalakshmi Ramakrishna, decided to return to Bangalore and dedicate their lives to children in need.

The Founder Secretary of the school, Dr. G Sridhar, obtained his B.Tech from IIT Kharagpur in 1989 and Ph.D from the Johns Hopkins University USA. He returned in 1998 and established the Academic Center for Excellence to train students for the IIT-JEE, AIEEE, and other competitive examinations. In 2004 he founded Deeksha Centre for Learning Pre-University College with the objective of providing students an integrated learning environment where they are trained for both the Board Examination and Competitive Examinations. This prestigious institute is nowadays most sought after by students appearing for Engineering and Medical Examinations.
